Connor is an associate lawyer with a keen passion for environmental law. Connor’s environmental law practice focuses on property and business transactions (including pre-lease and pre-purchase environmental due diligence), insurance, contaminated land disputes, regulatory compliance, and litigation. Connor represents clients in civil lawsuits, administrative law appeals, judicial reviews, and defence of regulatory prosecutions, all pertaining to environmental law disputes.
As a steadfast and detail-oriented advocate, Connor takes the time to listen to and understand client objectives and ensures that those objectives are met in practice. Connor’s diligence, creative thinking, and strong written advocacy skills allow him to assist clients with resolving both established and emerging environmental law issues.
Connor has considerable civil litigation experience before the Ontario Courts and Tribunals, as well as acting as counsel in private mediations. His civil litigation experience includes both oral and written submissions before judicial decision-makers in various litigation forums.

Connor provides legal support to both individuals and corporations that find themselves involved in civil litigation as either plaintiff or defendant. Connor’s civil litigation experience focuses on contaminated land disputes.
Representation of Clients in Provincial Offences Court
Connor has assisted a diverse set of clients with navigating regulatory charges brought under various environmental statutes, including by reviewing Crown disclosure, assessing and advancing available defences on the client’s behalf, and by negotiating the early resolution of charges with the regulator.
Solicitor Work
Connor frequently assists a wide array of clients from various business sectors with navigating non-contentious legal matters, including contaminated land transactions, implementation of environmental management/monitoring programs, fulfilment of regulatory compliance obligations (including support with ECA and CPU compliance), development of environmental management systems, and negotiating approvals with regulators and conservation authorities.
Litigation: In-house Litigation Counsel at Major Canadian Bank
Prior to joining Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers during May 2024, Connor worked as in-house counsel at a major Canadian bank where Connor acted as litigation counsel on numerous business-related and insurance disputes including claims for bodily injury, accident benefits, property damage, and fraudulent misrepresentation.
