Anand Srivastava is an environmental lawyer and Partner at Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP based in Calgary, Alberta. He advises clients throughout Canada on contaminated sites, environmental litigation, environmental due diligence, brownfield redevelopment, permitting, environmental liability, and regulatory compliance. Anand is called to the Bars of Alberta, Ontario, and the Northwest Territories.
Anand’s objective is always to help his clients understand and manage corporate and personal environmental liabilities. Anand advises clients in the manufacturing, agribusiness, mining, energy, aviation, infrastructure, real estate development, financial services, insurance, and municipal sectors.
Anand is litigation counsel to clients in civil claims, arbitrations, regulatory orders, regulatory investigations, regulatory prosecutions and appeals before Courts, arbitrations panels, and administrative tribunals across Canada. Anand also advises clients on environmental aspects of mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, financing, lending, and commercial leasing.
With prior education and experience in environmental toxicology, Anand brings scientific insight to complex environmental disputes and regulatory matters. His technical background enables him to evaluate scientific evidence, identify the key issues early, and develop practical legal strategies tailored to each client's objectives.
Ultimately, Anand’s goal is to counsel clients about minimizing environmental risk, seeking recovery from others, where necessary, and concurrently achieving their objectives.
Anand regularly writes and presents on Canadian environmental law, including environmental liability, contaminated sites, remediation, cost recovery actions, regulatory compliance, and environmental due diligence. He is recognized by Chambers and Partners and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Environmental Law.
