Bio
Bianca Salive is an associate lawyer practicing environmental law and litigation, Indigenous law, and energy law. Bianca’s background in environmental studies and business helps to assist clients with complex environmental legal problems. Bianca is called to the bar in Ontario.
Environmental Law
Bianca helps clients to understand and comply with a variety of municipal, provincial and federal environmental laws. She also has experience assisting clients with managing environmental liabilities.
Environmental Litigation
Bianca advocates for clients in environmental civil proceedings, administrative proceedings, and regulatory prosecutions. Bianca has experience assisting clients with appeals of Ministry Orders and Approvals.
Energy and Natural Resources Law
Bianca advises clients on compliance with provincial and federal climate change legislation and emissions regulations.
Indigenous and Northern Law
Bianca advises First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities, and resource proponents on natural resource and environmental law matters. Bianca also advises clients on Indigenous consultation obligations.
Prior Environmental Experience
- In law school, Bianca worked with an environmental non-profit intervening in precedent setting climate change litigation before the Supreme Court of Canada.
- During her undergraduate degree, Bianca participated in the UNFCCC’s Conference of the Parties in Paris as a delegate of the University of Waterloo.

- Appeal of a Ministerial Order—Assisted a director of an oil and gas company with an appeal of a Ministerial Order.
- Insurance Claim—Assisted individual homeowners in assessing a damages claim against an insurer for adverse health impacts and loss of property.
- Civil Claim for Environmental Damages—Assisted a dry-cleaning business with liability arising from alleged migrating contamination to neighbouring property.
- Defence of Prosecution—Assisted a construction company facing prosecution under the Environmental Protection Act.
