This Friday, February 28, 2014, law students across Canada will gather on Twitter to compete in the 2014 Twitter Moot. This year, the students will argue, or “moot”, the precedent-setting Ross River Dena v. Government of Yukon decision from the Yukon Court of Appeal. The Twitter Moot, hosted by West Coast Environmental Law, brings legal debate out of the courtroom and onto social media. Members of the public will be able to follow the Twitter Moot starting at 1:00 pm EST and weigh in on important issues in environmental, Aboriginal and energy law.
Willms & Shier is proud to sponsor the Twitter Moot for the third year in a row since its inception. Our articling student, Nicole Petersen, was a member of Team Osgoode, which won the world’s first Twitter Moot in 2012.
We wish the best of luck to all of this year’s competitors!
